TEHRAN (P.I.N.) -- Minister of Economy and Finance Tahmasb Mazaheri announced that more balance between tax and oil revenues was a feature of the budget bill proposed for the next Iranian calendar year (starting March 21, 2004).

He noted that a reasonable growth in budget had been forecasted and hoped that budgetary expenditure would be drawn up proportionate to revenues, so that, the government would not be facing budget deficit.

Mazaheri said since next year was the last year of the Third Economic Development Plan, the budget law was supposed to regulate budget use by various organs.

He said credits announced by various organizations and legal notes proposed for the budget bill exceeded previous forecasts.

"Therefore, the Cabinet will be discussing how to adjust those requests and legal notes during coming days, so that, a purposeful and balanced bill would be forwarded to the Majlis," he noted.
